Fund Established to Assist Fire Chief
and Family Recover From Fire

A fund has been established to assist Steve Moore (Fire Chief), Michael Moore (Public Works Dept. and USCVFD) and their family recover from a fire that destroyed their house on April 10.

The Upper St. Clair Volunteer Fire Department has been responsible for providing fire protection, rescue service, and other emergency assistance for the Township since 1939. The Department works out of the Main Station on Rt. 19 and a Sub-Station on Morton Road.

Each year the VFD responds to approximately 300 emergency calls. These include various types of fires such as structures, vehicles, brush, trash, electrical, and fire alarms. The department also answers calls for hazardous materials incidents, vehicle rescue, assistance to Township departments, and mutual aid assistance to fire departments in the surrounding communities.

Fundraising

The Upper St. Clair Volunteer Fire Department holds an annual drive to raise money for the upkeep and maintenance of our two stations, seven pieces of fire apparatus, training, insurance, equipment, and daily operating costs.

Our fire department receives its funding from three sources:

Annual Fund Drive	50%
State Relief Fund	30%*
Township General Fund	20%

The Volunteer Fire Department maintains 7 fully equipped vehicles to provide the Township with the best possible fire protection.
